Private room in home. Historic Downtown Orlando Guest Suite

Walk everywhere from beautiful historic Lake Eola Heights! Blocks from the downtown YMCA, Eola General, Lake Eola and its festivals, restaurants, and famers markets. About a mile through oak lined streets and central downtown to the Dr. Phillips Center & Kia Center. Enter through a private entrance in the backyard into our shared laundry space which opens into your suite. Your suite includes a couch, kitchenette, private bathroom, and a little dining table in your bedroom (queen bed).  The home was built in 1925, and if you like creaky old floors you are in luck! There are a few things to be aware of before you book: 1. Ceiling height on the back end of the house where you’ll stay is lower than most modern homes. In the bedroom the ceiling slopes from about 7 1/2 feet to 6 1/2 feet. In the suite area, it slopes from 6 1/2 feet down to 6 feet by the kitchenette and couch area. (The bathroom, suite area, and laundry room were porches that were enclosed decades ago.) 2. If you have extremely bad cat allergies, please know that we share central air and there are two cats on the other side of the house. The cats themselves are never allowed back in your area. 3. Your bathroom, kitchenette and sofa, and laundry area do not have central air or heating. Your bedroom does, of course! 4. The sofa in the “ living room area” does fold out into a bed. Probably best for a child or teenager. I would feel terrible if I told you it was comfortable. But it would work if it had to. Remember that that area does not have air-conditioning or heating. You can use the driveway during your stay. The backyard is yours to enjoy. Feel free to borrow the golf clubs you see by the door, and if you’re heading to the beach and need anything, let me know. We may or may not have a chance to say hello. The shared laundry room and supplies are all for your use. Your suite and your bedroom are entirely private. We reside on the front side of the house.
