Our 1920's historic home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from everything. The ColonialTown North district of Orlando (also called Mills/50) is a vibrant, central area with exceptional walkability to grocery stores, a trendy bar scene, LOTS of coffee and boba options, foodie restaurants and casual late night eats. When you're ready, retreat to our porch swing and watch the sunset reflect off the trees. We lived in this space for four years and left it just as we crafted it.
You’ll be staying in a generous, 1150 square foot private bungalow space that served as our home for several years until my wife and I built our attached addition in the back. We really look forward to providing you an amazing and relaxing stay!

Walking up to our house, you’ll find a welcoming front porch with lots of greenery, an outdoor sofa and a swing. The front door opens up to a living room with comfortable West Elm furniture and a working fireplace (for those rare cold Florida nights). I think you’ll notice the house feels open, airy and bright with real wood floors running throughout.
The "kitchenette" feels and functions like a spacious kitchen with adjoining bar seating and a dining area, but we were unfortunately asked to remove the stove to meet zoning requirements. While cooking may be limited, feel free to order in food, use our air fryer, microwave, rice multi-cooker or toaster oven… or take a walk to a nearby restaurant instead. Our neighborhood is known for its Vietnamese flair, but there are numerous options within a mile or less with easy parking. In place of a stove, we added a fun coffee bar with a regular brewer, single cup Keurig and French press! On the counter to the right, you’ll see an electric kettle and tea station, if that suits you better.
You'll find the two bedrooms in our bungalow to be plenty spacious, each with a closet and a smart TV. Our guests rave about our beds! Our Queen room is equipped with a trundle bed that features a comfy pull-out Twin XL. We have two full bathrooms. One bathroom is standard size with a tub and the other is more compact, but with beautiful subway tile and a walk-in shower with glass enclosure.
A hallway off the kitchen area leads to our laundry machines which you are welcome to use during your visit free of charge. You’ll also find a workspace with a desk near a bright window in the main common area of the home. Our fiber internet connection should be fast enough for your needs.
Guests have complete private access to the front porch and all interior spaces listed on this page, though we might see you out front as we gather our mail or take trash to the curb.
There is a little mud room and small back deck off the kitchen, but this area is used primarily for storage. We ask that guests steer clear of these areas.
We'd love to say hello if we cross paths. You might catch us collecting our mail or walking trash bins to the curb. Feel free to message us through the app if there are any questions, concerns, or if you'd like an area recommendation!
The Mills/50 area of Orlando is about as central as you can be without involving yourself in all the Downtown Orlando traffic. Our neighborhood is right on the immediate outskirts of Downtown. We are a 5 minute drive to the interstate (I4), 20 minutes to Universal Studios, 30 minutes to Disney and the airport, but our neighborhood’s main draw is its proximity to everything in real cultural Orlando. Just minutes from…
-Lake Eola Park
-Lake Ivanhoe
-Amway Arena
-Camping World Stadium
-Exploria Stadium
-Dr Philips Performing Arts Center
-Shakespeare Center
-Orlando Museum of Art
-Orlando Science Center
-Winter Park, and more!
The food in this neighborhood is great! BBQ, Authentic Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Tapas, Mexican and Italian options are available, but you’ll find we’re known for the Vietnamese influence in our area. Even our Cajun restaurant has a Vietnamese flair. Lastly, if you’re traveling for medical reasons to one of our world class hospitals, they are also a short drive away.
Orlando is definitely a driving city and we’d recommend not relying too much on public transportation. That said, our immediate neighborhood is very walkable if you want to grab a bite or get some coffee. You can reach everything within a 5-15 minute walk. Parking can easily be found on the street or in designated parking lots when you choose to drive.
My wife and I live in the attached addition behind this space. While a wall and hallway separate our living areas, it may be possible for you to faintly hear us from time to time if you’re in that back hallway. So far, we have not had even one complaint from guests. We've left out a hepa air purifier to create white noise in that hallway to reduce any crossover sound, and have listed quiet hours beginning at 11pm to ensure comfort on both sides of the wall. We are not noise freaks by any means, and wish for you to enjoy your stay without stress. Using regular inside voices and TV’s at reasonable volumes will never be a problem for us, even during listed quiet hours.
